Cox’s Bazar has so many attractions for the tourists that it is considered to be the most renowned tourist spot in Bangladesh. Himchori is one of those attractions which is a combination of hills, waterfall, bay and forests. The hilltop of Himchori is famous. People go above the hill and then they enjoy the whole area including the ocean view.
Himchori Waterfall: The waterfall of Himchori pouring from the green hill looks amazingly beautiful. Its height is about 108 feet and it is located 12 km south of Cox’s Bazar Town and 6 km from the Kalatali beach. But the full waterfall can be enjoyed during the rainy season only.
Himchori National Park: The Himchori Natural Park was established in 1980 which covers a large area. The park is maintained, protected, and secured by the government for the tourists. The park has forests, grasslands, and trees. Around 58 species of trees, 4 species types of grass, 15 species of shrubs, 19 climbers, and 21 species of herbs altogether 117 plant species are available here. Moreover, 286 species of birds, 55 species of mammals, 56 species of reptiles, and 13 species of amphibians are found in the evergreen forest.
